Funding and support: you apply

Eligible families can apply for funding to help cover child care costs through BC’s Affordable Child Care Benefit. For children with extra support needs, families can also apply to Supported Child Development programs.

Affordable Child Care Benefit

The Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB) is a provincial program that helps eligible families with the cost of child care. Factors such as income, family size and type of care determine how much support families can receive. Learn more about the Affordable Child Care Benefit.

Please note that families receiving the ACCB are responsible for all UBC Child Care fees, even if their ACCB claim expires, they no longer meet eligibility requirements or their claim is denied.

Families receiving the ACCB should pay particular attention to the attendance requirements outlined in the benefit’s regulations.

UBC Okanagan Child Care is registered through My Family Services, which is an online application platform. You will be required to have a BCEID to create an account.

Supported Child Development programs

Supported Child Development programs are community-based programs that offer a range of consulting and support services to children, families and child care centres so that children with extra support needs can participate in fully inclusive child care settings.

Funding: we apply

Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative

The BC provincial government’s Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI) enhances child care affordability by offering funding to eligible, licensed child care providers—to reduce and stabilize families’ monthly child care fees.

We are pleased to be enrolled in the CCFRI to help reduce costs for our families.

Child Care Operating Funding – Base Funding

Child Care Operating Funding (CCOF) Base Funding assists eligible licensed family and group child care providers with the day-to-day costs of running a facility.

We are pleased to receive CCOF Base Funding to help reduce costs for our families.

Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement

Through the BC provincial government’s Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement program (ECE-WE), educators working in approved, licensed child care facilities are eligible to receive a $4 per hour wage enhancement.

We are pleased to participate in the ECE-WE and offer increased wages for our skilled and talented educators.
