UBC Okanagan Child Care is dedicated to building a welcoming and inclusive community. We are committed to providing and expanding child care services for families who live, study and work at UBC Okanagan.
We care for 93 children (34 infant/toddler spaces, and 59 3-5 year old spaces) through our two centres, spəqmix (swan) which opened in 1992, and sʔitwənx (crane) which opened in the fall of 2024. The centre names were provided to us in 2024 by the Syilx Okanagan Nation. The centres are open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
UBC Okanagan Child Care is managed and operated by UBC Student Housing and Community Services.
